A Quick guide to A happy cat

In this busy world we don't always have time to read lengthy blog posts so here's a quick guide to having a happy cat -

  1. Keep food and water separate. There's more information in the previous blog post.
  2. Keep litter trays well away from the food area and the water bowls. (Would you want to eat your dinner in your bathroom?!)
  3. Have a different feeding area for each cat.
  4. Similarly have separate water drinkers/bowls for each cat.
  5. Provide lots of safe places to sleep. Cats like either 'up' or 'in'.
  6. When introducing a new cat/kitten to your resident cats, follow a recommended procedure and get expert help if you need.
  7. Provide lots of toys. Cats need mental stimulation and the instinct to hunt is strong and so can be satisfied by chasing and pouncing. This is particularly important for indoor cats.
